創造幸福人生

佛法的內涵是無所不包的，既是基本的生存之道，更是管理之道、幸福之道。大家知道怎樣才能幸福嗎？就是四個字──知足感恩。這是一把金鑰匙，幸福的金鑰匙。有些女士與婆婆有矛盾，婆媳關係處理不好，這也容易影響家庭氣氛。換個角度想想，你婆婆生養照顧你的另一伴，你現在才能擁有一個美滿的家庭，要想家庭和樂，就要視對方的父母如自己的父母，請把婆婆哄好。家人都得到幸福，你也會感受到幸福。你的人生是從每天的時時刻刻串聯起來的，多數時間如果是幸福、吉祥、輕鬆、自在的話，你的人生就是幸福的人生。

如果再往上提升，乃至超越一個覺悟的高峰，自己開心了、得到了人世間的天堂，還要把這個天堂送給大家，這才是學佛人應該要攀登的路、覺悟的路。將人世間的地獄趕走，把極樂世界請進來，那才是真佛法、真開悟。

Creating a paradise on earth

The connotation of Buddhism is all-encompassing. It is not only the basic way of survival, but also the way of management and the key to happiness. Do you know how to be happy? It is contentment and gratitude.
This is the secret key to happiness. Some women have contradictions with their mother-in-law. If this relationship is not managed well, it can adversely affect the atmosphere at home. Another way to look at this relationship is that your mother-in-law has given birth and taken care of your spouse and thus, you are now able to enjoy a happy family. Hence, if we want to enjoy a harmonious and happy life, we have to treat our spouse’s parents like our own. When our family members are happy, we will then be happy. When we have many happy, auspicious and peaceful moments in our life, our life will be a happy one.

If we elevate our spirituality further, transcend towards enlightenment and attain paradise on earth, we would want to share this paradise with others. This is the path for those who learn the Dharma – the path towards enlightenment. It turns living in hell to living in paradise. This is true Dharma. This is true enlightenment.

I hope that through [The Purpose of Practicing Dharma- part 2]you will know how to make your life happier, wiser and radiate such wisdom to others. This is what I often mention about attaining complete enlightenment through the cultivation of the Dharma.

【八月】不怕路遙遠，就怕你堅持。

大家熟悉的《西遊記》講的是三個徒弟護送唐玄奘西天取經的故事，然而當我們還原那段歷史，發現卻是另一番真相。在漫漫的萬里征途上，沒有人陪伴保護，只有他自己一個人，踽踽獨行。一路上，繞過官兵堵截、翻越萬丈雪山、埋身無人沙海，充滿了各種艱難險阻和驚心動魄。

每一道難關，都足以動搖信心，每一次劫難，都可能性命不保，他靠的就是「堅持」與「寧可西行一步死，決不回頭半步生」的執著，最終才抵達夢想中的佛國殿堂。

取經之路正如修行之路，可能會遇到各種超乎想像的困難，當你發起願心的時候，考驗就降臨到了你身上，肉體上的苦，也許能咬牙挺過去，精神上的苦呢？親人的誤解、旁人的譏笑、甚至修行中的停滯不前，煎熬得你看不到希望。但只要你不顧一切地繼續走下去，目標離你就越來越近了。因為目標就在那裡，只要向前走一步、就離成功近一步。世界上沒有失敗，只有「放棄」才是真正的失敗。

不怕萬千阻擋，只怕自己投降。不論是修行覺悟，還是追求人生的夢想，從來沒有簡單、容易的路，就是要以最大的耐心與決心，將生命與這條路合二為一。唯一能幫你成功的，是你對成功的渴望。我們生而為人，肉體終將湮滅，而你不朽的精神、不敗的意志、對社會的貢獻，將永遠留存在天地間，那正是我們的目標。

【August】No matter how far the distance, persistence will bring you to the destination.

In the famous Chinese epic “The Journey To The West” where the story narrated the three disciples accompanying their master Tang Xuanzang in search of the holy script, we often missed a vital truth in this story. In a seemingly no-ending journey, Tang is often left unprotected and alone in the journey. Along the arduous journey, Tang had to bypass obstruction by the soldiers, overcome mountainous peaks and be lost in the sea of desert.

Each and every of the obstacle was capable of shaking his confidence. Every time he escaped, it almost took his life. What he relied on was his determination and his mantra of “Rather move a step towards west than to be alive half step behind” that propelled hike to his destination.

The Journey To the West is similar to our journey in Bodhi Meditation, where we can expect challenges beyond our imagination. The moment we make a vow in our journey, the test starts. While we can bear with physical pain, what about mental challenges? Misunderstanding by family members, ridicules by observers, lack of progress despite hard work, and at times, the sense of hopelessness. However, it is clear that as long as we persevere, we will get closer to our destination. The only failure in life is when we give up.

The greatest fear is not the journey but us, giving up. There is never a simple and clear road in the journey towards enlightenment and towards our life-long dreams. The only way to do it is with the greatest determination and patience, and to cement our lives with this journey as one. The winning ingredient is our thirst to achieve it. We may never live forever and our body will perish. But it is our immortal and unrelenting spirit, our contribution to our society that will live the day. This should be our ultimate goal.
